Blasius
Georgius Skonda (1797-1863) was
the seal user, mentioned before.
He learned first on the Law Academy in Kassa, then he gained stipendium because
he was orphan, to the Georgikon in Keszthely. He was eminent everywhere.
He get married from a family of an estate overseer in Apátfalva. In that time he
was estate manager in Borosjenő, probably on a chamber’s estate, later farm
leaser in Seprős. In the registry of births he was titled as “nemzetes” (about
respected). Probably he used the seal for his appointment.

After 1846, he
was manager of the savings bank in Arad. He died here
in
1863,
due to typhoid fever.
It is interesting enough to mention, the grandfather of
his wife,
Heidenreich János Lajos.
He was famous doctor. The family have a number of souvenir
from him.
His sons,
Ödön,
Béla és László worked in
civil service, as orphan guardian,
distrainer, or town clerk (in Gurakonc, Peskuca, Halmágy).
The
lives of daughters Erzsébet, Anna, Ida
and
Gizella
are unknown.
His grandson
György
István (1886-1952)
fought throughout the World War I as
lieutenant. First at east, in
the fighting of Dunajev, Lemberg (Galicia), and the Duka pass region. Bravely
holding on, he was participant of the bigger offensives and withdrawals. Once,
he was wounded. The servant of him carried him pickaback behind the line.
In 1915 he was promoted to 1st lieutenant. During June – September of 1915, he
participated in the first battle of Isonzo (at Roveletto, Redazzo), and in the
repulsing of the Italian offensive, launched in the first half of 1916, in
South Tirol. Because of his bravery, in June of 1916, he was
awarded
with the Bronze
Military Medal on the Cross of Distinction ribbon, decorated with swords (Signum
Laudis), with the Cross of Károly, and also with an other Knight decoration.
His grandson
László
(1896-1916) was sergeant.
Because of his bravery, in the Fondo’s battle of the Italian front World War I,
was awarded with the
first class Silver Knight Medal (Big Silver),
after his death.
His grandson
Béla
(1894-1968) resettled to Hungarian area, and became town clerk of
Galmácsa. His family was the big loser of the regime reigned after World War II.
They, already aged, lived in big distress, interned, in Aszód. His son
Béla,
as fresh officier of Ludovka got to Russian captivity. After coming home, he was
degraded and dismissed from the new army, and such, started a new life. He was
decorated as manual worker, and fought his way up, to become an excellent window
- dresser.
Yet in 1934 they Magyarized to
Jászói.
This branch died out on male branch. One descendant is living in Isaszeg.
From the family, remained in
Transylvania, the younger
Ödön (1914 – 2004), in 1944 moved from
Temesvár to Budapest, with three children, on a rather adventurous way, running
ahead of the front. Due to his talent, after the war, he gain durable credit on
the diplomacy of public road transportation. His successful,
busy life
is comparable to an adventuresome
novel.
His sister,
Erzsébet
moved from Nagyvárad to
Biharkeresztes. Here their property have been nationalized, so their situation
became hopeless. She could get a job only by learning Russian. In that time
there was big necessity for Russian teacher. She taught in the University of
Gödöllö, firs Russian, later German too. Her three children (László,
Erzsébet,
and Katalin)
and their family are living in Budapest, with different profession.
Ödön’s children also worked and work in remarkable, nationwide known jobs. His
son,
Ödön
was the director of the Civil Aviation Authority. His daughter,
Maria
is the deputy chairman of Voksbank Ltd. of Hungary. Her one daughter married to
Germany, the other lives in Budapest.
From the family, living in Budapest, two boy carry on the Skonda name,
Bálint
and
Marcell.
